What! I know Americans are known for their love of guns but I must admit I wasn't aware they pretty much all carried one. I also am naive enough to think you wouldn't carry one on show as a matter of course. (Wrong course?)

Have a look at the 'Should We Have Guns' thread on SVrider, it's been me versus about ten of them for a couple of years now. Particularly a member called TJinPgh. My vision of him is something like wild Bill Hickock or General Custer.
They have this deep rooted hatred of the Federal government and think everything it does is to purposfully oppress them. Despite the fact the government completely changes every eight years.

They have them for two reasons, self protection, and to fight the oppressive government.
Statistics clearly show without a shadow of a doubt that a gun in the house makes it several times more likely that a family member will get shot, seems logical you'd think, but not to these bozos.
And the fact that all illegal guns were once legal and lost or stolen, so they're also protecting against the very guns they supplied to the criminals.

And the funniest, they really think they have a chance to stand up against an 'oppressive' government with an army.

They're mostly practicing christians, racist, although they veil it in several transparent ways, and really really paranoid.
They also constantly quote the 200 year old Constitution like it was a message from God.

Also from August students at the University of Texas will be able to carry concealed weapons. What could go wrong there you ask?
The Dean has quit, and many students and lecturers are abandoning Texas as we speak.

Apparently more Americans were shot by toddlers that had got hold of their guns than by terrorists last year.

Begs the question that perhaps Donald Trump should be calling for all toddler's to be locked up until their third birthday...
