I agree, you should play around till you find something you like!

With high pressures, my bike is like riding a rollerskate on marbles. I suppose ideally you should sit on the bike and get the chauffer to check the pressures before you ride off :D

Im comming up to change my rear tyre from a Z4, i was thinking of going Z6 because of the reviews.

On thinking, as summer is comming up would it be better to get a matching Sportech M1 for the rear as there is one up front or should the Z6 be a good compliment for the M1?

At least from what i was told that if you are going to have one stikky tyre put it up front.

My usually odd way of looking at things would say go for the Z6 'cos it'll be warmer (eventually) and the slightly harder Z6 will be ok. Dunno about mixing profiles though as the M1 is a sporty job and the Z6 is a sport tour ? Z6 is loads better than the Z4 though, much more grip esp in wet. Can u aford a pair of Z6's? shop around, I had mine fitted locally for 166 all inc.

I would have got a pair, but the fitters by accident put a M1 on the front when i actualy asked for a Z6. I had not noticed for a while.

I was thinking of getting extra carriers and keep spare tyres.

As some of you know, I've just got rid of my stock 220's & had Z6's fitted & the difference between them is unbelievable :shock:

I've just scrubbed them in (130 miles) & I'm only 5mm from the edge on the rears... The confidence I now have in corners has increased 10 fold :!:

I would recommend these tyres to anyone :!:

These tyres are absolutely amazing.

Even though they're barely scrubbed in (110 miles) the confidence they give in corners is incredible. Chicken strips are already smaller than my stock tyres were at the end of their life. Be warned, you will find yourself going much faster than usual on them. :shock:

A nice side effect of the confidence it gives is that I've noticed all my cornering, even low speed stuff, is much smoother than usual.

If they last as long as I've heard, I can't see myself ever buying a different sort of tyre for the SV... :thumbsup:

I'm not kidding when I say these have actually made me enjoy biking a lot more, You could really throw it into corners without feeling reckless at all, hard braking seemed to be improved too (although this could be like ABS- more confidence means you brake harder and that's what stops you quicker). It really is no exaggeration to say it's like riding a completely different bike. I've still got to test them in the wet and obviously for durability.

My only regret is being a skinflint and waiting till the D220s were worn to the state of race slicks before replacing them. Anyone with a new bike would do well to consider replacing them a "performance upgrade". :)
