I read all of them, but this site is the best and the only one I feel comfortable posting on.

I prefer this place too :) I just visit Socal occasionally now, it's so cliquey and IMO sees a lot of terrible advice offered as fact. (like the rear wheel speedo mod that relocated the rear wheel up to 10mm off centre, instead of doing it right)

But I do like SV Rider for the mods and tuning sections. I stay out of Open these days after one too many gun control/terrorism scrap :)

EXACTLY why I stay away from the stateside SV boards (and I'm thinking SVrider more than anything). Just reading some of the ultra-nationalist bilge that passes for political discussion just makes me want to retch
There's a local sportbikers board here in Seattle nsriders.org which you'd think was populated by grumpy old men, with all the "kill'em all", anti-tax, gun worship rhetoric. It's amazing to me though how so many of these healthy young strapping self-styled "patriots" are all for cheering the Iraq war and yet don't have the courage of their convictions to sign up for duty even though the American military has failed to meet recruiting quotas fro several months...
I have to disclose that my views are no doubt biased because I'm a Brit, but still...
Thankfully SV650.org is pretty much free of all that kind of crap...I really like this board, long may it reign

sv650.org (best site for information from knoledgeable people)

svrider.com (best place to get cheap "previously enjoyed parts")

socalsvriders.com(best place to realize the average IQ in the US is dropping rapidly)

Hey a1a I'm riding a SV1000 over here in Tallahassee. It is new and so far I'm loving it.

Beowulf- You are doing exactly what you say you hate. Since when should politics be brought up in a discussion about motorcycles? By the way I think you have your words mixed up. Most people aren't "cheering" the war, they are "supporting" the war. Quite a huge difference.

Hi aggs23,
I was going to try and buy a left over 03 naked SV1000 brand new a year a go January. I couldn't swing the deal on my limited funds. Seven months later I got a great deal on my current 04 naked SV650. Ride safe and ride often my friend.
Cheers!

Oh DO enlighten me. What am I "doing exactly" that I "hate"?

I really don't know, I don't really have an opinion for or against. Perhaps you should direct that question to the administrators of the stateside SV sites that I mentioned, and many of the posters that frequent the "Open" thread. Be sure to let me know what kind of answers you get.

Thank you sir for the correction! I had no idea I was so erroneous in my usage. I will ask the first nubile young filly that I see to spank me with a thesaurus!

oh, here's a suprise. A tree-huggin', pot-smokin' hippie from the Puget Sound area. I'm sure there's plenty of space in Boulder if you want to move to Colorado. Then we could at least ride together. Got some sweet roads out here ya know.
