I've got a friend who has the KTM 450 supermoto, he loves it, but for the difference in price, I've been looking at the DRZ400SM too even though its down on power and weighs more
I dunno, just got a spare set of wheels for my SV to mount my winter motard tires on, maybe I'll just do some suspension upgrades to my SV |
I'm not sure where the MZ Mastiff would figure in all of this, but at least you know the engine's not going to be an issue, what with it being a Rotax 660... And it has the advantage of looking absolutely nuts :)

I know a bloke who supermoto'd a DR350, big bore 421cc, RGV250 wheels and a caliper adaptor. Pushes out more power and torque than a stock DRZ400. Swop the wheels back for green laning
I thought the MZ had a Yamaha engine? |
Could be I'm wrong but isn't the Yamaha a rotax engine?
|
No, I think I'm talking rubbish actually.

Interesting to hear that KTM build quality is rubbish!!!!
I have an LC8 950 adventure which we are just about to take round the world - leave in 2 weeks. The quality of it is fantastic, it has done nearly 13,000 miles in 8 months and not missed a beat and when it cleans up it still looks brand new, although I hardly ever wash it as I can't really be bothered. Yes, it takes a bit of looking after and even things liek an oil change need the bike stripped down but I think it just means you really get to check it out properly every 5000 miles or so. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone ever... And as for build quality, my SV was hardly fantastic!!!!! |
