Yeah I've noticed that on mine, but figured it was because it was the throttle hand...

It's to do with the amount of conductivity in the bars. The right hand bar has the throttle control which insulates the heat frm the bar. However the left hand bar dissipates heat and therefore you lose the effectiveness of the heated grip. So I'm lead to believe anyway.

so long as you remember to switch them off when you park up they're no bother. If you're a wee bit forgetful though (like me) it's worth plugging them into the horn or light instead, that way they'll only work when the engine is running.

Or you could run them off the battery and connect them via a relay to an ignition controlled live. Thats how mine are.

have used for the past 3 winters the oxford wrap round [hot hands] easy to fit and remove when the cold weather comes, when they pack up will get another set- have seen them on ebay £25.00 new

Heine Gericke were doing their most expensive grips for 40 Euros in Germany a couple of weeks ago. I bought some and fitted them to a ZZR. Nice quality and very cozy! Might get some for the SV if they're still doing that price.
