Im assuming you have a curvy model ie with carbs:
Undo the two retaining bolts at front of tank and prop it up. You will see a fuel pipe going from the fuel tap on the l/h side of the tank to the r/h side of the frame. Check that is not leaking anywhere. Ignore the short pipe from the tap to the carbs thats the vacuum pipe and does not carry any fuel. Generally check for leaks. Start the engine and check for leaks again. If its still leaking from somewhere look under the bike and you will probably see a breather pipe which is leaking fuel. Try and trace it back up to see where it comes from eg front carb or rear carb. Then report back... If you have a fuel injection (pointy) model then the above applies but replace carb with fuel injector body... Adam. |

when I had my ER5, it suddenly conked out mid run and I pulled over and there was petrol leaking all out of the middle of the bike somewhere. The garage picked it up and said it was just a clogged up carburettor, and it just needed cleaning, which sorted the problem. Might be that.
