90 seems pretty high just to be getting 3 points. :?

it was a dual carriageway, so 3 points will be all he's collecting right now.

God they go easy on you boys down south dont they.

90 in a dual carriage way up North (Yorkshire) is likely to get you closer to 5 in the form of a nice court appearence.

Voice of experience? I think it depends on the circumstances

Fizz meant to reply as such:

It was along a narrow pedestrianised street in the centre of a local village. My pass just happened to coincide with the Woman's Guild morning walkabout.

Thats why I hate speed cameras especially the mobile ones. At least if you get pulled by a police officer you get the chance to apologise and then they have the choice of using a bit of descretion and read you the riot act and send you on your way.

Certainly is experience.. I was polite, stopped straight away, was courtious (sp) Also i hadn't been doing anything "wreckless" so to speak, just sat on the inside lane, no traffic about, doing 90 - ( i never did above 96 as its an instant ban) and cop car pulled out of a side junction that i hadn't seen (one of those junctions where you cant see in until you've passed it) and he pulled me.

Rest is history - i guess it could also come down to the age thing.. you see a young lad on a bike doing 90.. lets book him teach him a lesson - you see a mature adult on a bike doing the same thing, they're generally more lenient towards you.

GYKD didnt you try to outrun the police? or am i thinking of another incident? and isn't it anything over 100mph "may" result in a ban?

 That was a seperate incident. The one you're thinking of was last July when i was 1 point away from being banned for a minimum of 6 months so i decided to risk all and took off.

In the end it went to court and i walked away with a SDP of 6 weeks - no points, small fine... Job done.

As far as i'm aware, anything over 96 on a 70 zone goes straight to the courts and results in an immediate ban. IIRC.
