Well, I think the figures being thrown around so far for the costs of the 'investigation' are about the £4.5M area.... lets see them spend that on anyone...

I was never bothered by her like the 2 guys above. She was who she was and lived the life she did. I was working abroad at the time of her crash/assasination (whatever, who cares end result is the same either way) and the most pathetic thing was that brits on their holidays were walking the streets in tears and having a go at any other tourist who dared to smile or laugh.

God forbid if you asked what was going on, it was like they wanted to lynch somone. Bloody glad i lived in one of the spanish villages and was away from it all.

Absolutely... and right now I'd be instigating a public enquiry, and blowing millions in the process

Now as many of you know, I'm a bit of a Royalist myself.... However, it has been witnessed that the driver had been drinking, and his toxicology report proved it. Add the pressure of trying to escape the press (who I have to say should learn from this) and it's a recipe for an accident.

If you were going to assassinate her, you could do it a lot easier than trying to cause an accident, and you could at the same time shift the blame to somebody anti-establishment.

Al Fayed is looking for closure, he can't seem to comprehend that his son's death lays at the hands of a long term family employee (the driver), but that's the case, nothing but a tragic accident caused by that biggest of all road killers... Drinking & driving, which is still tolerated in France....
