is this a krypton alarm u are using?? I had this very same trouble.. I disconnected the stand switch and put a scotch lock over the two cables effectivly shorting it out, this dissengages the switch. On the downside i never got the bike to fire on the remote, my half arsed attide and the requirment for the bike to work everyday stopped me leaving ti in bits to solve the problem. There is a resistor in the switch somewhere which i think might be the route to the security issue stopping the spark, ( a low tech immobaliser) but hwo to get around this i cannot say at this moment... sorry i cant be of much more help, Alex |
Re: Mystical Electrics.
Yep thats the one, the krypton alarm. Got job I have 2 bikes, though I don't want to hack the bike to many times as I'll loose me nice tidy soldering. I think someone said to me the resistor picks up the fact that there is a key in the ignition barrel, but even if I leave the key in it don't work. So I think a test to see if I'm getting a spark is the next trick, if I ain't I might try using the kill switch instead of the sidestand.

Re: Mystical Electrics.
Personally, I'd never bypass the sidestand switch to get a remote start working anyway.
Park on a hill, bike in gear... come back to it, remote start... Oh bugger!! The sidestand switch prevents the engine starting when you're in gear. Just a thought. ;) |

Re: Mystical Electrics.
Grinch, me lad. A mate of mine designed his own remote start on his bandit6.
I will see if i can get him to log in later tonight and give you the lowdown. And yes, the resistor in the barrel had him stumped for a bit too. ;) |

How exactly it's used, I don't know, and the above information is taken from the TL forums. Do I sense it's time to dig out the DMM & test the resistance with/without the key? |
