Although I think they are doing a 200bhp V4 road going (well, race really) Ducati. About £40,000 or something to you sir :lol:

The success in MotoGP wouldn't sway me, but the simple fact they are there may tempt me.

Same with sponsers, i'd rather buy something from someone who sponsers any form of motorsport over one that doesn't. Purley becuase they are chipping in whatever event and aiding its funding.

Regarding the 1098, goes with any new bike OR car. Always leave the first year models, let them iron out the bugs. Although when sitting on that 1098 at the WSB, it was tiny, it was awesome, perfect position for me (5ft 8), can only imagine how it goes....

I'd have one, or at least consider it, but then I'd also look at the Aprilia RSV Factory R beast, and I've no racing related reason to do that- except GP125 and 250, but they're hardly relevant :)

Liz's has run fine, once we had the mess sorted out that the last owner had left it in. Which when we looked at the prices of parts etc wasnt anymore expensive than my GSXR is.

I think the trouble is with alot of Duke's is that they dont get ridden and they just get left to sit and only come out to play on warm days. Its not good for any bike to sit unused.

All the stuff that was wrong with Liz's was bits and pieces seized up and stuck on where the bike had been sat and hardly ridden.

I've had heard scary tales of dodgy eletrics on the older monsters though, but I think the more modern Dukes they have sorted that out.

I agree with the spanish one, dont buy the first generation of a new model as they always have teething troubles.

I am impressed that such a relatively small company can beat the best of the Japanese.
I wouldn't buy a Ducati, but I can imagine the fans having some smugness when Stoney does the biz.

The Ducatis I have seen are ugly. What's with the squarish tank and a design out of a student sketch book.
