ok, hope you don't mind me going a bit off topic...

How do you connect them?
Directly to the battery + a switch?
Or to the ignition wire (where can I find it on a curvy?)?
Cheers!

depends............ the new ones can go straight to battry,

as can the old ones, but if you leave the old ones on they will flatten your battery, as the new ones will turn them selfs off

best IMO on both types to go to ignition wire if you know how, i did'nt

If you want the new ones mototech is selling a brand new 2007 set for £35. Would I make a good sales assistant? Would I????

Ive got a pair of oxford 2007 hotgrips on my fazer and upto now they work ace, get nice and toasty quick as you like. You can connect them directly through to the battery but i connected them via a relay jsut to be doubly sure. I have a set of these for sale in the sales section of the org.

Don't wire them into your lighting rectifier, your bike will burst into flames in the middle of rush hour traffic and have you charging about the streets screaming "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, HASN'T ANYONE GOT A FIRE EXTINGUISHER...?!" at the top of your lungs in a hysterical kind of way...

Re: Hot Grips

theres a spare point on the fusebox they can be plugged in to. The new ones are good- fully waterproof! and they will run at idle :) I do find they've occasionally switched off when the battery is low- but I think thats better than waiting by the side of the road for the AA!

Clarification of that would be fantastic right about this time of year :D
Just about to wire in generic hot grips to my K4 Pointy & off the ignition would be good as I've killed my battery once before & I'm sure my new grips don't have a cut out.
TIA

I used this guide to fit my Hot Grips: http://www.sv650.org/docs/FittingHotGrips.pdf.

It shows you where to find a spare connector for an ignition switched live circuit to avoid leaving the grips on accidentally.
