Have you ever bought alpine start leisure clothing? It's cheap and smeels like **** when it arrives...that put me off their leathers a bit - I emailed them to tell them this but they didn't bother to respond.

Nope, I'm not really one of those folks who buys biking branded stuff for hanging about in :)

hi all, thanks for all your advice, in the end i ended up getting a FURYGAN ATTACK jacket
RRP £400, however i managed to get it for £300 as there was a 20% sale and my brilliant dad managed to haggle the price down to £300.

thanks again for the advice on the A* jacket, tried it on in J+S and it felt thin and pants, it only had single seams on the stitching, whereas the Furygan has double on most, as well as a descent back protector ( not crappy thin CE shiz, which is 0.005mm thick lol)

whats with the random Alpinestars bashing? I have a leather jacket and leather/ textile pants and rate them highly.

I have two alpinestars leather jackets, and both I am happy with. The only grip I have is the toggles on the jacket arn't very strong, but other than that I trust the kit will do a good job of protecting me if I had an off.

I tried on lots of other clothing brands, but alpinestars fits me the most comfiest and the best, given my slim (skinny) figure and long (gangly) limbs

Re: Alpinestars leathers jacket advice please.

I had been debating the Alpinestars Octane jacket for ages, eventually treated myself to it at the bike show (after trying it on 3 times throughout the day!) first leather jacket, had textiles previously but it feels really solid and still comfortable, fits me well which is surprising as I had to get the last on the rack (58) only had chance to wear it a couple of times, must get some thermal layers. but I found it to be really comfortable and I really like it but I do admit the choice was pretty much cosmetic but I'm pleased with the results. :)

Roll on the warmer weather so I can get some more use out of it :D

I'm a bit of a lethers hoarder/ crash tester as anyone that knows me will confirm.

Personally I don't like A* just don't seem to fit me properly -
- Dianese I don't trust crashed a few times and wore through too easily
- Scott leathers great fit once broken in - great protection
I have never had any real issues with Frank Thomas leathers even after a couple of high speed crashes and just brought another 1 piece for £200 from work - but some people hate them!
I also got some Berik and Spyke leathers - so far they are a good fit after breaking in luckily not crashed yet.

George white's currently have some excellent deals in the outlet stores if you have a look (no I work in bike sales and outlet has nothing to do with me apart from taking my money lol!)

Looking at SCOTT leathers any opinions?

Yes, they are excellent quality and very good value for the cost. HTH. ;)
