But it looks like anyone travelling on Friday afternoon will need their waterproofs :/

not good. The rain icons have changed on metcheck to the big fat dark blue ones!

I did a similar trip last year. Five hour ride at night in a downpour. Was THE worst ride ever. Think I might travel down saturday morning instead :-(

Well, its now turned to intermittent rain/cloud/sun.

Just going to ignore it now, changes more often that my gf's moods.

Its way to early to trust the long range forecasts and way to much effort has been put in to make this happen just for us to bail out now because the forecast says its gonna rain at the weekend.

Lets be sensible about this, wait till Thursday night / Friday morning before you make your final decision.

Im coming regardless, it may be in the car, but im coming, would be ideal with good weather but not gonna ruin it for me.
