Is there any way to manually trip the shutter? Took the bottom off the X300 and it seems like it is stuck halfway through a cycle. I can make the shutter lever move by releasing one of the locks but need to trip the shutter some how.

Not sure exactly but I found this
"remove the bottom cover and hold the windlock dis-engaged with the main wind shaft while cocking the camera." That's supposed to reset it.

Also a simple trick to try to resequence an SRT shutter yourself. If when your shutter release button comes back up (after you wind the camera when pushing down the release button), it seems lower than normal then try pushing in the rewind release button (in its U-depression on the bottom of the camera) and try winding the top advance lever (don't force anything, if this is going to work it should be all free moving). If the shutter release button pops up, the camera should be resequenced. It may take a couple of tries.

Lifting the windlock allows me to use the lever. However there doesn't seem to be any tension on it when I do.

Not sure now. It seems like the wind stroke is completed but the shutter needs to fire and reset it. Maybe worth having a good look at the shutter curtains.

They look fine. Fully over and perfectly straight. Its a catch 22. I need to fire the shutter to get it to work but it won't work because I can't trip the shutter!

Nettar pics look good, the Novar is quite a capable lens, not so far removed from a Tessar really. As for the Certo pics, yes looks like a leak, but not so bad flare - look at the sun in the first pic - flare would have destroyed this. An uncoated lens or the early coatings which weren't so effective really do benefit from a lens hood but if you can fix the leak then you have a good shooter there I'd say. Pity about ebay.

Thanks for bringing me up to speed there Johnny! I quiet enjoyed the Nettar, currently watching one of stablemates with rangefinder on ebay.

Any more luck with the Minolta? There are service manuals with parts diagrams floating around on the net if that's of any use. From scouring forums, the only things left to try might be trying to push the shutter curtain over towards the left (film canister side) to try to reset the mirror. There's also a suggestion to put a screwdriver or coin into the autowinder slot and give that a wiggle.
