Re: Average miles on an SV tank?
I've had over 40,000 miles out of my tank and it still shows no sign of wearing out. I do however have to fill it up about every 110 miles on an SV1000. K3 SV1000 has a single stage flashing light. Off - On - Pushing it no flashing stage.

Re: Average miles on an SV tank?
I actually decided to make use of the two trip counters and put 10 litres in on a solid fuel light. It flashed at me 140 miles later and went solid another 20. A lot of two up work and all town/b roads. Pretty happy with it as I enjoy the power and like to use it.

Re: Average miles on an SV tank?
depends on riding. Average I'd say 145 on a K9S. I've done 195 then found a garage. Didn't wat to push it for a few miles.

Re: Average miles on an SV tank?
I don't hang around at all, I blast it (while respecting the engine!) and I get about 130 before the light, so that's heavy throttle action in horrid london traffic with a bit of motorway action (again not hanging around) Which I think is fantastic. I don't doubt for one second that I could get about 170 miles to the light if I took it steady. But I don't see the point in tootling about on a bike, might as well be in a car all warm with the radio on if you're gonna do that nonsense!

Re: Average miles on an SV tank?
My K4 was about 110 miles minimum to 200 maximum, depending hugely on how I rode it.

Re: Average miles on an SV tank?
So since you folks on here told me the correct fuel-light sequence for my SV, I decided to push it a little bit.
I got 135 before the light started flashing (I was on the M1) and pushed it to 175.8 miles before the light came on solid and I'd just passed the services on M1 J4. So I pushed it a bit more (a bit carefully I might add), and when I got to the station at the corner of Finchley Road and Hendon Way it was closed due to some ongoing construction works. I heaved a sigh of relief when I managed to get to the next station; I had done 187 miles in total; not sure I would be confident enough to push it further.......maybe if I had a small jerry-can with some litres in it! Thanks for the info guys! |

Re: Average miles on an SV tank?
best i've ever had is about 200miles from the tank, but that was pretty much all motorway miles. usually though i get about 140 or so before the flashing light comes on (2001 curvy)
