No difference at all?

Right if you whack the throttle open what happens? Is it soft? Or does it hesitate?

Wait you have iridium sparkers? Hmmmph maybe these not firing right? Ive been reading a lot about my prilla engine (different I know) but my engine dont like these plugs and they can cause a bit of trouble.

Maybe check them?

It feels like it would do what it normally does out of a corner then it hesitates, catches and carries on. Not rev related either.

Right I've had a look at this thread, and all this playing about isn't getting you anyway.

Given it's an old bike, remove the carbs and give them a dam good clean*, whilst there check floats are moving freely and jets are clear, neddles, springs & diaphragms are in good order, reassemble and refit.

Next drain and flush the tank, both solid and liquid contaminence can sit at the bottom.

Next remove the fuel tap and clean the filter behind it (some taps have a small bowl which also needs cleaning), refit and refit tank.

Next check the vacuum hoses and air box seals (between carbs and box).

Now you should be able to guarantee good and steady fuel flow.

all that should take you no more than a day/ cost nothing but time and require nothing more than basic tools, even if the bike was running right on something that old I'd want to know it was done.

If that didn't clear the problem then at least you know you don't have to worry about fuelling, so can start systematically searching the electrical side of things.

Cheers Mark.

*take note of the condition of the petrol from the float bowls for contaminates

I see plowsie. Just read the list under your name as what you had done... :D

Indeed thats the best way to sort it rictus... I was just trying to varyfy this would solve whatever the issue is so plowsie didnt have to strip the carbs... Gah PAIN in the ****! Do this though plowsie and you are almost sure to sort it.

Famous last words?

"It pretty much eliminates the main possibility" is as far as I'd go with that line of thought lol

Okay couple of other checks for people that thought it may be cylinders not running etc. All downpipes are evaporating water.
