no-when there left to there own devices for a short while ,even when they've been brought up "domesticated" they will revert back to there natural pack instincts (until you the leader return)-if you've got a few dogs you'll be able to see after watching them for a while who has what position in the group. If you get the chance watch the wolfman documentray when it re-runs on sky-fantastic insight into animal behaviour and interaction with humans. The wife has a cat and all the dogs are ok with him on there own, but as soon as there's more than one dog its a different story and they need watching-its just there instincts when there around other dogs.

I see. Never had any major issues when we had a pair of learchers... but they are so placid I dont think they could be bothered fighting over stuff. One of them barked at the other when he got her bed position. Had to always go down and shut her up. So anoying at 2AM.

Now we only have the bloke (ladie got old, 16 Years!!!), He hates to be left alone now, big puff. :smt043

unfortunatley I have some odd dogs. Terrier x lurcher and staff x whippet. I'm lucky ive had the latter since pup, as they can be quite horrid with others if you get later in life apparently. My friend has a whole brood of greyhounds, staff x whippets, salukis x's. So I have a general idea what to look for. But hes a big poof, its the older bitch I have problems with, shes getting to be a lot of a bully.....and hes much bigger and weightier than her.

I am top dog in their eyes, followed by the cats. She prefers men to listen to, bob prefers me and won't do anything for my otherhalf when he's here...lol.

Dogs they really are funny........but not when they fighting between themselves

They look so at home in the snow like that.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Looks like they are in their natural habitat. :)

Cracking looking pack of dogs there, I bet they love the colder spells.

I remember watching a program about sled dogs, one of the owner said that they prefer to run at night, because if they run all day they get too hot! In well sub zero conditions!

I bet it's a fair task keeping them well exercised.

Got it in one!! with our boy, a four mile walk just wont cut it, a four mile run with him pulling me on the rig will tire him out for a couple of hours but then he'll want to play so we have to give him plenty of mental stimulation (treat balls and puzzle toys, and even practicing our obedience) to get him thinking as that is as good as a 30 minute walk to him.

From what i have seen though, the huskies are far worse for this... a 4 mile run isn't enough for some of them and they are still bouncing about when they get back and you can see them all jumping around on their stake out lines!!!

For the time being i'll stick with Malamutes!! still difficult at times and incredibly stuborn but far less bouncy!!

beautiful dogs husky. woman round the corner has a couple and walks for miles with a lead that she ties round her waist. Watched her sliding down the hill in the snow the other day, hoping she would fall on her nose and be dragged for miles.

talking of pack animals fighting. my daughter has 2 gerbils. One killed the other and ate its hands (so it couldnt fight back maybe) and its face - nasty wee beast.
