That sort of tash obviously takes years of dedication and hard work, but mate if you think you are ready to step up and meet the challenge, then you have a go.

Flew the old girl this evening!! :)

Flying about a treat ... then the engine cut!! ...

So had to make a bit of an abrupt landing and it ran into the long stuff ...

No damage, but on re-start it was not getting fuel properly ...

I figured the rubber tube with the clunk on must have come astray inside the tank ... so took the tank out ...

The tank had been all nicely built in, so it was a hack job :( ... long story short, the clunk hadn't actually come off, just the sudden stop had meant the pipe had doubled back on itself in the tank and got jammed ...

So back together (sadly again, where originally built in, the pipes had to come out, so needed to fit some new longer pipe to re-attach tank ... had some new pipe in my spares box though 8)) .. and away we were again :)

I have put a fairly long bit of rubber pipe on the exhaust to blow the muck out the bottom of the undercarriage and that has sapped a lot of the power :( ... however, I'd say with this restriction, the engine is a pretty good match now ... and I don't have kack all down the side of it from the 'zorst 8)

Whats recommended for a newbie? SOmething RTF or ARTF. Itll be a present for someone at Xmas spends up to about £60 (could go more if required)

You've got no chance for 60 quid, fair enough the plane, but radio gear and motor will be a sight more.

I have a small electric one (full 6 channel control though). Beware, they're fiendishly difficult to control.

I have the flight stimulator (fnar fnar) and have learnt well on that..not that Im expecting it to be anything like it!
