I will never allow a pillion on without full gear. Maybe jeans if it was 'just around the block to see what it's like', but not if we were leaving the village.

First time I'd say jacket gloves and a good fitting lid, and two pair of jeans or sommat just so you can take her round the block and see if there will be any point persuing it. If she makes a good pillion get her some leathers, she'll love you for it.

The technical term is...to sit there like a sack o spuds.
Well thats what Im Indoors said I should always do. However in the five yrs I've ridden myself I find that rather difficult, as I don't ride biatch anymore as i find it rather terrifying:confused: Once she gets experience of sitting like a sack o spuds she'll not hold onto owt, unless on braking or sharp acceleration. Can't give you any advice on what to do riding the bike itself as I'm too selfish and refuse to take a pillion anywhere....apart from Gladys, but hes different

What's this talk of wobbling? Even though the DSA test is basic, you shouldn't be wobbling at test standard.

Personally I like going pillion, but rarely get the chance.

lol! I think I wobble if I recall. I'm pretty sure I can u-turn can't say I've had much practise of slow speed (or on the bike at all for that matter, crashy crashy) since passing the test. My problem with it was legally I had to do the test on a 125, which made no sense and was a lot different to a 650.

This much |-----------------------| :)

As long as you are confident then you should be fine to be honest. :)

Just wouldnt do it yet, wait till the weather picks up a little to make the confidence better ;)

Sometimes taking a pillion seems to make the bike handle better, strange i know... but there you go.
