Re: Inforad siren modification
Only takes 5 minutes- see my earlier post :)

Re: Inforad siren modification
How long does it take you to drink coffee? I haven't soldered for years
|
Re: Inforad siren modification
I built and tested the kit in about 20 mins. The kit is easy to build, I'd build it and test it before modifying it

Re: Inforad siren modification
So with such a device, could a suitably informed person make it power a relay when over the speed limit? The device must have speed and speed limit information. This could usefully power some IR LEDs...
I don't think that gatsos are too much of a threat, what with them being fairly visible. I reckon the main danger to license is the sneaky pig behind a bush with a laser gun. |
Re: Inforad siren modification
Thats kinda what the mod does - 2 second alert when in the zone and continuous alert if exceeding the limit.
Then again, IR leds are low power, just leave them on all the time if you think they will help |
Re: Inforad siren modification
Aye, but scamera vans won't be on the GPS database, and they are the really sneaky ones.

Re: Inforad siren modification
OUCH!!
That's ok, I didn't really need that skin on my arm anyway |
Re: Inforad siren modification
What box did you get? The relay is too big to fit in the T2 box I got
|
Re: Inforad siren modification
not sure, but it was too tall for my box too, but having trimmed all the component legs and filed the top of the relay box it squeezed in. Shame you made the same mistake though....

Re: Inforad siren modification
My 2.2uf capacitor doesn't have direction arrows on it. It has a long and short leg. Which is positive/negative?
And what's what with the TIP 142? |
