Re: I bought it!
I'm pretty sure it's the '03 registered in '04 - it says suzuki on the tank rather than having the little logo thingy.
In London all weeked so not had chance to check yet or get insurance :( Might check out those free crash bobbins tho - will see how cheap carole nash are. sKiTz |
Re: I bought it!
Ok, so, went to clean the chain up the other day (she's been sat for a year) opened the petrol tank to check how much petrol was in there, and you can't see! ha ha.
What I did see though was quite a bit of rust, so have been to a bike shop and bought some of this tank liner stuff for old rusty tanks that gives the inside of the tank a clear coating to protect from any more of it rusting in the future ,so there's a job for weekend. I have a question though - what's the best way to clear the existing rust out of there? I've read about several things like acid/sticking bolts in there with water and shaking it up (won't be able to do this as you can't get one of those magnet stick things down there to get the bolts/nuts out) Has anyone had any experience with this/any suggestions. Also I'm being really silly here but there isn't a reserve tap is there? I'm assuming there's some sort of warning on the instrument panel for when the petrol gets low? Not got an owners manual you see so not sure of these things. Although I did go buy myself a Haynes the other day. :) Thanks all sKiTz |
Re: I bought it!
carole nash didnt offer me any crash bungs when i was sorting insurance with them

Re: I bought it!
No I couldn't see the offer wither. Had a quick look around the website and couldn't see it.
They were around £250 more expensive more than I eventually got it for anyway so wan't going with them. It's funny how different insurance companies are better for certain drivers. I remember Carole Nash being really cheap when I was younger on my GS. |

I'm pretty sure you can download the owner's manual from somewhere. I'll see if I can find it. |

Re: I bought an SV.
How big is it? I wouldn't worry about it if it's going to take you ages.
Although I wonder if there would be anywhere to host it on here/another website as a permanent link for people to get hold of. Just wanted useful info on how to use the clocks etc & tyre pressures, things like that sKiTz |
