There is a corrupt unelected government in charge of a country full of oil. Quick, send in the troops.

And originally to try to capture Osama bin Laden and destroy Al Qaeda. The problem is, as the Russians found out, if you attack Afghanistan, the Taliban move over the mountains to Pakistan and you can never win. Did you know that Russia was contemplating attacking Pakistan as well to try to secure a military victory in Afghanistan!?

Please dint ever believe that hype. That was the PR or spin they put on it to justify them going into the country.

if they'd said "look we put this puppet Karzai in to sign off the deal for the gas pipeline across the country and now we have the deal we need to secure its route and the puppet" no one would have let them away with it.
Tell the world "we are going i to catch a bad man and save lots of other people from a tyranny almost worse than our own" and the sheeples of the world will allow it.

Didn't know there's gas there, I only knew they have opium poppies:rolleyes:

It's all thrown into sharp focus by the death of the latest British soldier to be killed in that rathole.

Defusing a bomb to protect others - how brave can you get.

Yeh sad but true. Karzai used to work for one of the big oil companies in the region and was hand picked for the job by the Bush family and friends.

And you're right, you really cant get braver than that. And apparently he was only days away from coming home to his family and loved ones too.

Oh yeah, thats the other one. I keep getting the two muddled up. Its an easy mistake as they are both pointless wars that we are sending our troops to die in.
