Re: Thumb Brake

The SV's got the best rear brake on the park - 2 gears lower & throttle closed, but that wouldn't satisfy Richie's apparatchiks.
Your insurers SHOULD REDUCE your premium 'cos you'd be fitting a USABLE ( to you ) rear brake.

Now I'm just confused  it was just idle chit chat to point out that I knew about my guzzi having a linked braking system - I wasn't trying to say it only had one braking system -

I'll go away now
I'm with you, no one mentioned using a sinlge breaking system anyway, so he need not of brought it up :D;)

Just don't use rear brake. Can't remember touching mine for ages. Have never replaced pads in nearly 40k miles.

Sounds like a recipe for sideways going bike.

Re: Thumb Brake

tru that but im prety sure having such a long line would some what degrade the power of the rear brake, and the idea just came from my quad all 3 brakes are linked to the foot brake and the handle bar mounted brake dose the back but vire cable rather than hydro (still enough to stop the back dead at 70mph)

Re: Thumb Brake

A long line will not degrade the power of a brake if it is properly bled.

Re: Thumb Brake

but a third slave cylinder coming off the front master will need VERY careful sizing or one end or the other will be prone to locking ( or the lever will come straight to the bar )
