Re: Argghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ......... :)
Shell----Our next door neighbours went to Oz six months ago and are loving it.We were going to have their Lab[Enzo] but they ended up taking him with them, and the cat.I think if you check the quarantine regs,it isn't all that long on the Oz side.

Re: Argghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ......... :)
Down under...easy decision! ;)
I'd love to move to Oz, but still need a few more years experience first! Do it while you can! |
Re: Argghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ......... :)
I've had the thoughts of moving abroad for work ever since being made redundant in sept (ok I've got another job now) but I have made my mind up that if the right chance came I'd be away in a flash.
yes you would miss family and friends, but surely his would be a real test of who your real family and friends are. with email/Internet/skype and stuff the world is a much smaler place these days. if there was an emergency make sure u always have enough spare cash to buy a flight home at short notice. obviously the job at home is something you have been wanting however is it going to effect your love of bikes seeing they now become 'work' tools? I think it comes down to would u rather have a good job here or the standard of living that oz brings?!? |

Listen to your head. Listen to your heart. Write down the pros and cons for both and consider them carefully. Then make a rational decision. This is a "Win Win" situation; you can't lose really ;-) |
Re: Argghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ......... :)
I'd have no hesitation.
Oz. Family - well they can go visit. Friends - you'd make new ones. And your old ones would stay in touch, surely? Dog - get another. Are you really going to make life choices based on a dog? Bike job - is a job riding a bike really what life is about, Shell? No matter how good it is? You'd be bored silly after a while and you'd grow to hate the bike. British winters - if you're anything like me, you will hate them more with every passing year. If you don't go now, you'll get to 50 and always be wondering 'what if'. As someone else has said, if you don't like it, you can always come back. |
Re: Argghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ......... :)
Just remember that the grass isn't greener, just because it's on the other side of the fence. Go out there for a holiday or two and get mixing & chatting with some ex pats. Find out the real story and know what commitment your making. I'm sure Oz will be more good than bad, but know about the bad before you go. I know it's a different situation because of the level of drugs and crime and it's a dangerous country, but my friend is finding that Mexico is not the dream life he thought it would be 8 years ago when he went out there.

Re: Argghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ......... :)
Dogs are for life, I wouldn't give up my dog for anything. I reckon it would send Sam mad if you tried taking him to OZ, the quarentine would be costly and far too long for him.
Stay here, keep the dog and marry Lozzo :-) |
