Re: Belgium ban the burqa
As someone previously posted, airport security or the Police should have the authority to ask a Burqa clad woman to remove the veil for id purposes, and behind closed doors if needs be. If they refuse lock 'em up. Other than that, just what is the problem.
If you want more than that then it says more about you than the supposed terrorists you are terrified about. As to me wearing a bikini when I'm in Rome in 44 days time...er NO! |

I'm no fan of the burka, but more as I don;t believe that a woman is a chattel and is being forced to wear it rather than from a security perspective. Unfortunately I believe that certain parts of the press make a rather big deal of the perceived security risk as it is very visible and rather noticeable in this country. Yes, they have been used to cover up crimes, and there have been reports of people getting through security while dressed in one. But stockings have been used to conceal identity for crimes, and I'd never call for them to be banned ;) |
Re: Belgium ban the burqa
Why do they have to remove the veil in private?. They all mingers and that's why they wear them?.

Re: Belgium ban the burqa
What a pointless ruling. The whole point of western democracy is freedom of expression and religion so long as it isn't hurting anyone. People should be allowed to wear a burqa if they want, and if they are being "repressed" by their man, then that's a different issue. Banning certain clothes is wrong. I lived in Belgium for 18 years, I can barely recollect anyone there ever wearing a burqa, this is going to make zero impact and yet cause a huge pallava. Pointless and anti-freedom.

Re: Belgium ban the burqa
The right to freedom and democracy was taken from us when they were allowed into the country, you may recognise it but they don't.
