Storm in a teacup.

I think you're looking at that very deeply

These protests in London are doing nothing but congest traffic and get up the backsides of a great number of people who may otherwise support the cause, and it's even annoying the Mayor. Hardly supporting their goals is it.
All this commotion over £1 a day sounds very childish to me...

*runs and hides*

so it'll be ok if they start charging cyclist to chain up their bicycle because there is a lack of bicycle parking rail?

what next, charge pedestrian for stopping on pavements?

Storm in a teacup.

The problem with this view is that Boris is the ultimate decision maker for these issues... the transport committee makes their recommendation, but they could be overruled by the mayor.

I'm only surprised he didn't say something racist. He is entertaining, but is not stupid, and is a very old-fashioned, snobbish "right kind of tie" kind of Tory. His hair is an insult to every West-country scarecrow.

No one gives a toss about motorcyclists and no one will give a toss about this either.

This is why you need to jump up and down and shout and otherwise make a nuisance of yourself - make people give a toss because it's causing them a problem, and make it clear that you're not going to stop until you get what you want.

It should be fairly easy to get people on your side in London, if you can show people why - congestion charge, motorcycles exempt => high M/C purchase rate, govt lost revenue => parking charges. Probably a little simplistic, but there you go.
