I used a LCW 10 Stop filter which I found outstanding. Its not cheap but its cheaper than B&W or the Lee Big Stopper which both seem to have a strong colour cast to them.

The LCW has a slightly blue cast but its only very slight and is easily adjustable in PP. I only just bought it before going away so much of it was experimentation but I think it really worked in that setting. In some other photos however, it wasnt as effective. I tried it elsewhere on rivers and found the wind made too much of a mess of the foliage to get a perfect result.

Richie, no thats actually the North Island, however I cant remember whether it was near Rotorua or actually in the Bay of Islands. The scenery in parts was very British, either like the Dales/Cumbria or rugged like Scotland.

Great photos Rob

As for doing weddings as a photographer my Dad used to do it as a full time job for over 20years or more.

Even with commercial work he had to give it up, and a lot of his friends in the business had hard times, lots of stress, nervous breakdowns etc, just trying to make ends meet. He looks back and is glad he gave it up. We never saw him on Saturdays, because he was always doing weddings!

Keep it as a hobby & just do weddings for friends & family, or sell your work, its good enough

Excellent photos. It can be pretty magical down here, and once you're out of the larger cities/towns there's not a lot of traffic around either.

Just remember that it's 100k max speed on the open road, and watch out for the speed cameras!

Some very nice compositions Rob though colour looks a bit off/overdone on some on my calibrated monitor. If they look ok on your monitor maybe you need a better monitor that can be calibrated? Where these shot in RAW?

Yeah they are shot in Raw, and no my monitor hasn't been calibrated yet. I'm borrowing one to see how far out it is.
