Yeah, met berlin and 'mad Tony' TC252 at RAF Leeming charity trackday last year. Was most impressed with Tonys naked curvy with horn still fitted and old ex BT tranny van.

Know few people that treat them like the way Whiity's described.
Rather spend the £170 shredding tyres and burning fuel on the road

its still worth doing getting your license halfway through the year mate,if you think about it your license will cost you 50 quid ish with your novice bib, so that means you will have only lost 25 quid by missing the first half of the year and its done then! and you will never have to do the waste of time course again unless you let your license lapse for 2 years, otherwise just renew it every yr for 40 odd quid. well worth having even if you dont race,as you can go acu testing with it not just trackdays, and will learn alot more in an acu test group than a trackday. get it done lad and dont worry about it, cos theres nothing to worry about , i turned up to my first test day this time last year having never ridden a road bike round a corner! then i raced 5 days later! i was on a botched together nsr 250 which looked horrendous at the time, nobody battered an eyelid and there was so many people there to give me any advise i needed and point me in the right direction, best thing iv ever done!!

Quick update, I have booked to do the test on june 27th at Rugby as the August date at darley was day after we are going for an all day session at haydock races so would be in a bit of a state! I misunderstood the riding assessement part and dont have to do it with having a full license. doh!

Further update. Joined Preston and District club, test done and passed. You were right, it was dead easy. Hardest bit was getting there, deffo wish I had incorporated it into track day though to break boredom.

Got another t/day at oulton wed july6th. Just healing from last one 2 wk ago where I highsided at shell oils in pouring rain in fast group. Sprained ankle, strained groin( tried splitting me like a chicken wishbone I think!) one purple bum cheek and various other bruises. Can't remember much apart from thinking "its only a lowside, I will be able to carry on" then seeing sky and tarmac. I was commened by medics and marshalls for clearing bike and debris off track on my own so session wasn't stopped. Adrenalin is a good thing!
