Bad luck Lozzo. I'm almost reluctant to ask a man of your mechanical calibre, but are you sure you've been running correct tyre pressures?

The tyres have been fitted for less than two weeks, so I'd bloody well hope so.

Belive it or not I see one most mornings in High Wycombe town centre on my way to work. Slow moving, traffic-jam-causing nuisance that it is I'm glad it's cutting down the amount of punture-causing rubbish on the road.

I seem to recall a thread round here somewhere that said use a screw to fix a puncture. So what is your problem with this, just tighten it up and it should stop leaking.;)

I see three solutions to this problem Lozzo.

1. Ride harder so you wear the tyres out faster, personally I'd be quite pleased to get 800 miles out of a rear .....

2. Stop riding on all the hatched areas where all the rubbish collects.....

3. Just accept that occasionally life sucks!

I'd like to see anyone destroy a Michelin Pilot Road 3 or any quality sport/touring tyre in less than 800 miles of normal or even moderately fast road use. When Pirelli were introducing the Angel ST they ran a Hayabusa round Nardo race circuit non-stop for 24 hours on the same tyres at an average of 132mph and they still weren't completely wrecked by then.

http://bikerholic.com/2009/04/22/pir...angel-st-tyre/

I wasted a pair of Avon VP2s on the Versys in just under 2000 miles in 2009, but these things should last a fair few thousand miles before needing replacement.

I filter in places cars and bikes don't usually go, I won't sit still in traffic if I can see a place to ride and keep moving. Inevitably this carries a risk of punctures, but four on one bike in 2 1/2 years?

Life doesn't suck, I could be forced to wear a uniform and call people I dislike "Sir"

Forced is possibly a little bit strong for something I willingly choose to do, and I generally find it's the way you say something rather than what you say that sets the tone, something that can be easily lost in the written word. One of the dangers of forums is that the writer occasionally assumes the reader may be educated enough to understand the message. I generally relish the challenge, but accept I sometimes get it wrong.
