And the front wheel? It's currently lying in the bottom of a ditch, approx 10 feet away from the bike. With the front fairing and screen... |
Re: One way to end a bank holiday weekend...
Wowser. I managed to survive 800 miles this weekend unscathed although I did lock up the back tyre at one point when going to overtake at a stupid moment. At least you're ok! Shame about the bike :(

Re: One way to end a bank holiday weekend...
Glad you're ok. Keep an eye on the ache and pains though. A couple of years ago after an accident I thought I was ok and after a month of walking with pain in foot, I went to the docs and it turned out I'd broken a bone which needed a pin in it. 12 weeks of plaster later.....adrenalin can mask greater problems. I hope you get on ok with the insurance and are back on two wheels soon.

Oh no James, that's awful. Got to consider yourself lucky to walk away from that!

Re: One way to end a bank holiday weekend...
Had a decent look at what's left of my kit. Seems to have done me relatively well considering how much I slid/tumbled. Probably the reason my injuries are so minor!
http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n...82011001-1.jpg Jacket's got a big hole in the left sleeve, and oddly enough my worst graze is right underneath the elbow armour, which is strange. I'll have to look at that. http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n...82011004-1.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n...82011002-1.jpg All in all I seem to have got on quite luckily... Helmet is all in one piece, not even a scratch on it and my boots are still all in one piece. Thankyou Arai and Sidi! |

brand new arai lid, brand new textile trousers, jacket, gloves, newish boot :( my knee would have been knacked if it weren't for the trousers though... (highly recomended) glad yours are fine though :) |

oo thems some big holes:o. Is the elbow armour the hiprotech or hard armour? I ask because the hard armour is what cut Pete leg in half when he had his crash. Its nasty stuff. The hiprotech is soft, but even though its sat snug in its pocket, velcro'd in, will still give you friction burns or cuts. |
