First session, he takes teh CBR out as it hasn't been ridden much, and will pass it straight to her in the pitlane for her session ,then ride the R6 after that. 2x sighting laps, green for go, jsut approaching Tarzan (less than 1 lap) and the red flags are out. WTF? Pulled in and yes it is a real stoppage. First fast lap and he's binned it half way round on 8 year old tyres the Flintstones would have been proud of. Broken collarbone and fingertip pointing very much the wrong way. Ouch.

Having to deal with his missus' wrath not having a bike for her session? Wouldn't want to be him, unlucky! :p

But a lever and a little gravel rash which would have cost £120 max for one side to paint, a lever £60 being a harsh price for one!!!!! How did they justify the whole deposit? And did he get to go out again afterwards on the day?

Worse was the fairing was mostly gaffer tape as end of season and they put road fairings back on after the season to sell them so no expense there. No, not allowed to ride again. Just lucky he wasn't on a 3 day Spanish trip! There justification is they'd only take 500 if the bike was written off so always take £500 for any accident. Anyway, ruins the day

So the moral of the story on a hire bike is .... If your gonna bin it don't leave anything usefull behind, get your money's worth out of it.

That's harsh and pretty disgusting treatment by the hire company to be honest, I'd have dragged it out into the paddock and set fire to it to get my 500 quids worth. I don't agree with Focussed Events' policy on not going back on track after a light drop either. That's one of the many reasons I won't ever do another trackday with them.

I though FE's policy was if you can fix it yourself on the day they would be happy with that.

I know it was when we were in Spain with them

Lozzo. I've done two hires myself and it does annoy me. Tyres are track focused with no warmers and pretty warn. You run off a little and it's end of your day and lots of money for nothing.

H-H. Surprised as I've been on a couple of FE spanish packages and they usually don't allow you back on track for that day but maybe the next if bike ok. They didn't allow self fixes which I can understand especially if rented out again.

I hope she rode his R6 for the rest of the day.....

She did! It came back with pinch marks on the seat...

Re. Focused hire bikes, that's pretty bad. If you go with Smallboys they have warmers, rain tyres, a pit bitch, everything you want.
