As promised, an update on this.
Got the Gevey sim, as said under a tenner off ebay.
Easy to install and worked a treat with my english sim card for the whole 12 days in England. Wouldn't even have known it was anything other than a 'normal' phone and sim.
So, thanks you all for the advice, especially hindle8907.
