£60 fixed penalty for failing to display.

That would be more likely if you were away from the bike.

If you were stopped an they noticed then I think you would need to be a bit of a d**k for them to pull you up on it as they can check online. Spose it depends what they are like round your way.

I think I will pop up to boy racer world aka Halfords today and see if I can find a better quality holder as my new disc should be arriving soon

I keep mine in my wallet - once got pulled over by a bike cop for a check who had a good look round the bike .

He then asked me where my tax disc was , so I got my wallet out and showed him it - he said that's where I keep mine , had a good chat about bikes and off he went !

I don't even carry mine on me! I normally tax online, it arrives and I put it straight in my paperwork folder.
I think the last one is still in the envelope it arrived it!

I've got mine at the top of the forks, well that's where the last owner had it. Thinking of taking it off and just having the disc in my pocket though.

Radiator top bolt on the left hand side. It covers up the ugly pipe too.

Interesting that people don't get kickback for carrying it separately, not on display. My bike if virtually never parked on the public road, and the current tax disc is in a stupid place (offside rear, instead of nearside front). Maybe I'll just take it off and put it under the seat.

Currently on my exhaust hanger, although has spent some of it's life under the pillion seat.

Have it on the pillion peg.

Me and my house mate have had notices placed on our bikes advising us that the parking warden has noted the failure to display and it is going to be queried with the DVLA as to whether its taxed. That's on 2 bikes that were constantly parked on the same, residents permit / disc parking zone road though, so many opportunities for traffic wardens to make themselves busy. Nothing came of it, bar me putting the disc on the bike.
