Could be a valid point, newest SV I've fiddled with was a K6 so pre-twin spark. It could well be another one of the many subtle differences with early pointed and the twinspark models.

What about people with remote start alarms I been looking into this and the clutch switch needs to be disconnected in order for bike to start remotely. I have a k9 so are we saying pre twin spark it screws up or from twin spark it would mess up????

I don't think power is affected but mine kept cutting out at low revs. Now I've reinstalled the switch it doesn't cut out anymore.

Run rough as fu*k at low revs with the switch inactive.

Kev did you have NO other work done at the time the switch was reactivated? What SV do you have?

Was it cutting out as you were decelerating and downshifting with the clutch pulled in?

Yeh totally stock 2010 model. Just kept cutting out randomly coming up to junctions, etc. As revs were going down it would just die.

Put OEM clutch lever back on (therefore making switch work again) and that sorted it.

Interesting, that's exactly what happens with mine.

Did you fiddle around with the switch at all to get the levers/starter to work? Or was it just a straight swap of the levers?

My bike still has the switch and as far as I can tell it hasn't been fiddled with. Shop swapped the levers over.

Also I don't need to pull the lever to start it or rather push the switch as the lever doesn't go anywhere near it!

Was that the same on yours too?

i changed my brake and clutch arms no problems and switches still work are you on about changing the whole brake and clutch assembly??

Exactly the same. I thought the switch had been tampered with by previous owner but my multimeter told me it still worked.

Popped the old lever on and the bike wouldn't start on button so obviously that rectified the switch issue. About 150 miles on the bike since and it's not died once.

Was just the levers mark.

Cheers kev, might swap back to the standard levers and see what happens then.
