Cheers Jayne.

Today's work then.

I removed the both engine cases and prepared them before firing some etch primer then some silver over the top. It's not the right colour but it'll look far better than corrosion. I have 2 new gaskets on order so they can't go back on till next week.

Next I removed my bars and fitted a set of Black Renthal bars and cheap bar end mirrors.

Where did you get the mirrors from?

They seem alright for £9.
Only issue was I had to grind the corners off the nut and run the rubber insert along the edge of a grinder wheel as the Renthal bars are a LOT thicker walled than standard.

Last night after work I popped up the man cave for a motorcycle maintenance fix and fitted the new 7x5.5 plate, LED India relay and 2 x new stainless exhaust clamps.
Why would you not replace 2 x rusty clamps for £5.
After polishing the end can and link pipe it made sense to change them. Only issue is now I may have to brighten up the headers with some Harpic!

Got the gen cover back on tonight and partially cleaned up the clutch actuator and surrounding area.

Best way to clean that clutch actuator is strip, clean & re-grease. I used Molygrease.

You can give the rest of the area a thorough clean while it is off.

Cheers Blapper. I did strip and clean it and just put regular grease in there although 2 ball bearings fell out. They went back in just fine though. Need to set up and adjust the clutch properly today.

Just checking but im sure that the spring return arm goes in front of the worm drive not behind?

Re: New project in the garage.

By that i mean the lower bit that holds the return spring

It's how it came off.

Anyone have a pic of the correct set up?
