Nah, keep it to yourself, no point in causing trouble.

Just kidding, get onto the police asap. Anyone know about the details of the uninsured and untraced drivers place? I've got a bookmark at home for it but not here...

havent readall the replies...but, if you got the number plate and there is her paint on your exhaust, dont rub it off, ask the police to take some of the paint as evidence, they can then get the car with that reg, match the paint and hey presto you have yourself a prosecution.

they used this in my mums case when a van hit the car and parked up the road withoutinforming us...many moons ago so it should be easier for them these days...

that is unless you get one of the bike hatin cops who will probably say yeah ok and then nopthing will ever come of it (the few copper spoil it for the many imo)

Shop her today. Don't take the paint off the can, if she denies it then the police may want to match the paint samples. Failing to stop is serious, esp if there's someone left lying in the road. You could have been badly hurt for all she knew or cared.

Some years ago, I went into the back of a Jag (in a little brown mini I had at the time) - totally my fault. I went through my insurance company so they did all the chasing etc and then I paid them back at the end of it (the damage was minimal, as were the costs) and I don't seem to remember my premium going up by a lot.

Now, even if it was decided that you couldn't claim from her (can't see why that would happen but...), you could just pay the insurance company back. Having said that, I'm not sure if they'd still do such a thing.

If you did sort it yourself, unless you told them, surely you'd be guity of withholding information from them and then when you really did need to claim, if they found out, they could refuse to pay anything.

There are at least a couple of people on the board who are in the insurance industry in a professional capacity (tho not seen anything from LynW for some time - a few of her posts showed she knows about the insurance industry), so they may well pipe up.

Glad you're ok tho. It does amaze me how some people behave.
