1st service, 600 miles, £115?

Take the bike somewhere else mate, thats a rip off! All the really have to do is an oil change & tweak a few knobs so to speak.

I know :( i will speak to my missus dad tonight and see what he says and where he recommends.

£115 for an oil change is madness.....and if we are honest they wont check feck all else, they will have a coffee and pretend they have looked it over. :smt009

I know the outcome of my conversation already though as he swears by Pid****s Honda. :(

I cant remember how much I paid for my 500 mile service.

I do know that they fitted the new brake pedal for free tho (had to pay for the part - which is fair enough :)

Literally all they have to do is drop the oil, put more in, check & tighten where necessary for things like the clutch & throttle freeplay.

Stamp the book & done.

Bring it to my house & I'll do it for £50 for ya. Hell, I'll even buy the sundries out of that & stick you some trackday oil in there (5w40).

I have just enquired at Claycross Powersports for a price as they are a dealer also, so shall see what they come back with, may cancel yet.

Re: Just bought an SV650Sport

Purely for the record Claycross Powersports wish to charge £110 for a saturday 500mile service but are solidly booked up :rabbit:

So thats that then, if i want a dealer service and stamp in my book, i have to be prepared to be bent over for an oil change :smt073

Re: Just bought an SV650Sport

I bought an SV 650 Sport first week of this year, the 600 mile service (ok it was nearer 700 if I'm honest) cost £38... Maybe this is because I took it back to the same dealer?

Oh, and it was done on a Saturday afternoon too.

They were supposed to also fit the crash bungs (part of the original deal on the bike) at the same time but they'd forgotten to order the brackets... took it back the following Saturday and they just did it in 15 minutes while I waited.

I thought you always got the first service "free", well at least the labour element.

Mike.

I'm clearly going to have to look into this  I'm the quite type though who doesnt like to cause a fuss.

I will speak to my missus dad who knows the guy very well and see what he say, perhaps he will have a chat with him lol

worse comes to worse i will have to stump up the £125

i think that's roughly what we paid too. we agreed that we would only pay for parts for the 600 mile service when we bought the bike though
