Are we going to ring ahead for ice cream at Burnham on C ,

Re: AR12 Chat

Not sure if we're stopping at Burnham. Where would we put all those bikes for a start?

Anyway, Supervox is the RouteMeister, and he's still working very hard on getting us the very best roads, scenary and stopping places.

NTECUK 21-02-12 12:33 PM

Re: AR12 Chat

Yes you have a point . 20 extra bikes would cause a issue .
Let's hope it rains ;) more space .

Messie 21-02-12 01:15 PM

Re: AR12 Chat

Well if previous years are anything to go by, around 100 extra bikes would be more like it!

Re: AR12 Chat

Thats more than the population of Burnham :)

In exactly 15 weeks time, you should be rolling up your sleeping mat, squidging up your sleeping bag, trying to find the tent poles, wondering which clothes to add - extra bit for girls, working out whether hair straighteners and dryer is too much and will there be any needs for heels - checking chain lube and tyre pressure and scratching your head as to how on earth all that is going to fit on a bike because you'll be leaving tomorrow morning nice and early to get yourself down (or up or across) to Essex!

There are plug in points in the camping field. Which is a point to note if anyone is bringing campervans or (god forbid) caravans

Guys and Gals, This is my first AR and weekend rideout (my Mrs doesn't do bikes:mad:) and I'll be travelling alone. Now I'm a big boy and can get on with most (my mother is like Mrs Bucket and my brother is Rab C) but you lot seem to all know each other very well.

Is this anyone else's first time? Is anyone riding up from the Portsmouth/Southampton areas who doesn't mind me tagging along on the ride up. I'll be able to set off at about 3pm once sorted after work.

I'm looking forward to the meet and the ride......and a few beers (and I love cake:smt106 ).

Cris.

Josh, You've gotta come along just so I can take the **** out of how god awful your DrawSomething pics are :-D

Re: AR12 Chat

Josh, I'll look into B&Bs for you.

No one has has to shave their head unless they really want to and I will be bringing my hairdryer.

It's rained every day for over a week here now, which means there'll be no rain left for June.

I'm getting a new TV cabinet delivered tomorrow and we can burn my old one as we desperately need firewood for the fire pit. Still working on where to get some from - any sensible ideas considered.

Here is the Lodge that is only 1.3 miles away from the campsite.

Single room from £45 with breakfast extra if you don't want to grab a butty at the pub before we set off.
