An update,


JUST pulled a rusty ****ing wood screw out of my was still pretty new rear tire, she's fooked!!
THANK GOD, I had recently read the puncture kit thread and purchased said item.


You guys have just stopped my day being a complete pile of ****. Thank you.


Couldn't have happened at a worse time, baby girl was due last Friday, so a quick get away is imminent.
Still having to bimble means I'll get there in one piece.

Replaced the rear with one of these this morning, have only ever used the stock one prior to this, my mind was blown at how easy it was to throw the bike with not-square tyres.

Waiting to scrub them in before going completely mental.

Had mine on for about 3k. Can't fault them. Only had one or two moments but they were in the wet and very much my fault. Wet performance is still the best I've experienced. Plenty of grip in the dry too, never been found wanting.

What's the warm-up like, better, worse or same as the PR3's? Just wondering as I'll be due to replace in autumn and that will be my consideration between staying with the PR3's or moving on to the PR4's. Any problems with the slicker edges or only improvements?

They seem to warm up at about the same rate. It's difficult to say about the edges as I have the Trails on so the hard compound is much wider. The edges are a much softer compound though and I've never had any issues despite being right the way over in conditions not necessarily great for such things.

They feel nice and have stayed round thankfully.

I must stress, water dispersal is fantastic.

If you want an alternative tyre choice check out the Michelin Pilot Power 3 & the Michelin Pilot Power 2CT. I have the latter & find them fantastic in wet or dry conditions. The life of them is also good so far-front is on 6k & has plenty of tread left & the rear is on 4K and probably has another 4k left in it. This is on a heavier more powerful bike as well.

The Strom is about the same. It's much heavier with me on it though.
