Fair enough then... I could make a space in the garage for one though. Actually, no I couldn't, it's pretty full. Perhaps I'd build an extension.

Same as the_lone_wolf's suggestion, only bigger ;) My recent DR650 acquisition fits the bill perfectly for me I think.

- Large tank (when I fit the one I've ordered)
- Comfy riding position
- Nice wide, flat handlebars
- Great handling

Found myself enjoying pottering along at 50-55mph down the valleys around Tintagel rather than needing to reach for the redline. An altogether more relaxing way to travel!

If i was a latte sipping cafe hound then I would consider a super scoot. Honda's new one looks interesting.

it should be at the NEC show as is part of the new 08 range. Automatic and a little under 700cc I think.

You want to be able to say potter off in to town on the odd message.

It's for when you want to just go for a gentle, relaxed ride as opposed to canyon carving.

If you want to simply head off in to the hills with the sun shining on you, this would be possible too.

The bike would be capable if required to cover a 400 mile trip which leaves you feeling relaxed at the end of it with no back, kneeee ache etc.

My main bike, a Speed Triple 1050, would cover all of those. Though I am not sure that I'm actually capable of gentle, relaxed riding.

The Problem:

Island roads, poorly surfaced, not that fast, country lanes more than anything. Why bother having 100bhp+ when you only ever get the chance to use 50?

The Solution:

DRZ400SM, or any supermoto really. mmm, KTM SuperDuke / 950SM

Oddly enough, in Jersey last week I was thinking that one of those would have been ideal.
