Re: Pet Food Run next Weekend 07/09/08
Glad the weather has cleared up a bit. Hopefully it won't reduce the numbers doing this too much. Such a shame if the animal shelter suffers because of the rain:(

Certainly a day of two halves. Good start to the day with brekkie at Auntie Ruths with DMC and Plowsie. Shame we'd left before you arrived ETO.:smt047 Up to Melton where we met up with the sole representitive of Ducatisti on his Monster and a couple of Melton bikers. Down to Market harborough for a cup of tea at a deserted Midland Superbikes before going to the official run meet point. It's a classic car dealership that also sells new Guzzis and Enfields. There we meet up with paiste1, Tanis and his lady. All this in teeming rain Slow but well organised ride over to the shelter, where free tea and coffee were dispensed and hot food could be bought. I opted not to look around knowing how sad I would feel about the discarded pets. I reckon at least 50 bikes made the run, if not more, and were rewarded by glorious sunshine all the afternoon. Also met up with paiste1's (Dan) other half. Top day out and made more so by the company who we shared it with. Only the best will do. http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...foodrun002.jpg Nice looking Guzzi with wavies. http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...foodrun003.jpg Really liked the retro white Guzzi http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...foodrun004.jpg Usual posed pics. http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...foodrun008.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...foodrun011.jpg One for dizzy Blonde and Canivore http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...foodrun012.jpg |
Re: Pet Food Run next Weekend 07/09/08
Just got in from work.
Thought I better wash the bike when I got home from Huncote and had to go out before getting a chance to post. Really enjoyed today. Was a good first ride for me. I agree the pace was a little slow, but the scenery was nice and the weather really was great from the moment we set off from Rockingham. Was good to meet up with some of you.(Pete, Lissa, DMC, Plowsie, ETO and Tannis). Thanks for making me feel welcome. Heres looking foward to the next ride out;) |
