This could be the start of something beautiful! :o;)

And I agree with Lozzo and Messie.

Apparently there was an rtc on the m25 today involving a bike & lorry.

Can't be pretty when something so big collides with something so small.

Read this on RAC traffic alerts while stuck in the resulting jam, thought of this thread.

It's a sad reality that persons die on our roads fairly regularly, sometimes through fault of their own, sometimes through that of others, and sometimes a combination of both.
Riding a motorcycle exposes you more to that risk, and it's understandable that a motorcyclist will feel a mixture of emotion when learning of such an event, and we each have our own ways of dealing with it.

Personally, and I guess this may a consequence of my job, I've always had a fairly matter of fact approach to it. I generally want to find out how it happened, not necessarily because I want to apportion blame but because I want to reassure myself it wouldn't have happened to me....or maybe just to learn from anothers mistake. Not everybody shares this view of course, and we've seen evidence of that on this forum.

RH, i always, like you, feel better when i know how things happened, it just ties things up better and not leave them open to just an accident, not on about blame, just cause.

There does seem to be though a distinct lack of compassion lately though, we're fellow bikers, all part of the same community, posting RIP is only a very small show of respect which doesnt cost anything tbh.

We have our own views and thats human nature, ntohing wrong with that, but id like to think if i went in this way, fellow bikers would do the same for me.

I too feel that knowing how things happened will somehow help me to avoid the same situation.

Nothing wrong with showing compassion to people you dont know, or acknowledging their existence; after all, i'm pretty sure im not the only one who nods to fellow bikers.

R.I.P Fellow biker.

I don't give a toss if I didn't know the man/woman its just a sign of respect.
When a funeral cortège passes by I remove my cap as a sign of respect, I don't think to my self, oh well he may be a Rapist so i will leave it on......
