it wont last, surely everyone wants more power eventually!

I have 2000 650s and i had indicated 120MPH at just over 8000rpm in top gear, i wont go faster as its hard enough then to hold on but mate who i bought it off said he's had 140 indicated on speedo.
its the acceleration that i like more no car stands a chance lol .......

I was talking about the present but yeah, eventually when I'm ready for track days I'll no doubt want a sports bike. When I get in my car now it's just... YAWWNN! When I first started driving though I was loving the power, so yeah you're probably right.

I used to race 2 strokes back in the day, nippy, flicky and revvy. Just got back into things with a K6 "07" naked and I've been a bit nervy on it until today when I thought I'd open it up. Now accepted I've never ridden a superbike, but **** me, it went from 90 to 117 indicated in what seemed like a blink of any eye, and showed no signs of slowing up. The wind must have been behind me I guess. Knees clamped tightly to tank and eyes out on stalks. Sat up, breaked hard, turned into the roundabout, and out the other side. Crikey guys it scared the pants off me. Still smiling now. How fast do you need to go?

admittedly it's been some time since I saw a "how big is mine...er sorry how fast is mine " thread and I think the most was 145, I would have thought you guys could have bigged it up a bit more that .6 or 1 mph more by now.....or is it just the speedos are now further out than they used to be....:smt082
