I tried to do this on my dads curvy and gave up as the yellow curvy spring is simply too small a diameter to fit without this kind of bodgery; you can't even fit the plastic collar to protect the piston rod and seals. I picked up a later ZX10R shock very cheap and used the 510lb spring on the curvy, and fitted the 465lb spring to the ZZR1400 shock on my pointy.

We left it off. Its a feature to stop stone chips as the zx 10 dont have stone guards as std. A hugger or stock guard does the same
