When I do this route I personally make a small change to the route that's been posted. Instead of taking the A14 after Stow Cum Quy I take the A1303 to the A1134 to Trumpington. Then take that small road over the river which then links back up to your route. After all I know how much everyone LOVES the A14 around here.

As for the rest of the route it's the best Mid-Anglia has to offer I'd say. :)

Excellent thanks Scott - will make the change. :smt023

Does anyone mind if the slow old Dizzer leads this or does someone else want to lead? I have nowhere to mount a tankbag or map so it could be interesting checking the route :smt101 Better come up with something just in case!

I'm good with it, it'll be nice to take a bit easier and if I want to give it some I can just drop back for a while then catch up again :)

If Rich and me have sat nav's setup (and anyone else?) then we can take the lead without getting lost if it looks like a good idea on the day...

My mate has a TomTom Rider - might see if I can borrow it - actually I better see if there is room to mount it on the DRZ first

KJ or Seggons - any suggestions for a stop on route - I am onto reserve after about 80 or so miles...

I have no idea yet. It all depends on what work I get given on the Friday before the rideout. If it's an easy week then I'll attend but if it's a busy one like this week was then no. :(

I've made another tiny change to the route in the Cambridge area. After-all you probably don't want to take a group of bikes on Cambridge'es ring road.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=...=14&sz=14&z=11

As for fuel. If I assume the above link is the direction your heading in there is a Tesco's in St Neots here http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?daddr=...p=1&sz=18&z=17

Possibly a bit soon but it could cater for anyone that needs a pee/ciggy/need a top-up/forgot to fill up at the start stop. Unless KJ or anyone knows any better I think the next nearest along the route is here. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=...ra=ls&t=h&z=19

With them 2 stops it should see you comfortably under 80 miles even with a few U-turns thrown in. :D

You also go past RAF Wyton where you could stop for a re-group and possibly a picture or 2 of the bikes in-front of the plane. :)

Yep, those are probably the best stopping places.
