So my diagnostics were too simple. So you're saying that someone incapable of checking their plugs, fuel & air intake, is going to know what a butterfly valve is/looks like or his situated?

Come now Job, you know exactly what I mean, took me trial and error, lots of mistakes, bit's of advice and a lot of bikes to get to be "Dave" why should I pass that on for free to the google copy and paste merchants that lurk in the tech section?

I don't know what a moth value is either Spank, but I'll most likely find out when/if I take my engine apart this winter.

Depends on the variety but some of them are quite pricy if you find the right lepidopterist.

so that you don't have a moany post in a years time complaining that no one knows how to fix their bike and to start with the basics 1st.
Knowledge is passed on and passed down. By doing so, people learn, people do and people pass it on. This enables that culture of hands on mechanics rather than give it to a garage. I learned plenty off here about the SV and how to fix certain elements of it.

Re: TSCA revenge :)

If people didn't pass on knowledge we'd never have advanced because what took you a lifetime to learn would also take the next generation and the next so nobody would ever learn more.
