As Fordward/yorkiechris say, damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Bear in mind - a weather forecast isn't a cast-iron thing and just cos it's a certain temperature in one part of a county/city/region doesn't mean it applies on every patch of road.

The thermometer outside my shed can read two or three degrees but then you'll find solid ice half a mile away on one of the lanes with hedges on both sides. Will take excess grit over a little bit of ice any day.
