Re: Clutch lever switch bypass? Pointy

I literally didn't even know the switch was there and I fitted the aftermarket levers and wasn't until I was googling around for a solution the cutting out issue that I put 2 and 2 together.

See if you take the lever off and operate the switch manually you can literally hear the engine note change as the fuelling is altered. It's quite obvious when you listen for it.

I changed my levers and did not notice any difference at all, I still need to squeeze my clutch to start the engine, ive not experienced and problems of my engine cutting out at all nor dropping revs, i held both old and new next to each other when i first bought the new levers and there was no difference in shape and did not have to move or unplug any wires to put the new levers on?

Mark, may I ask what levers you use?

I got some cheapo Chinese ones that don't have an extension on them to actuate the switch.

Perhaps if yours are of better design and quality they have the bit that is needed?

Quite annoying as I like having short levers and don't really want to go back to the standard ones :(

Kev, thanks for the vid. Can't really test it as I have no way of jacking up the bike and from what he said it makes no difference in neutral

Re: Clutch lever switch bypass? Pointy

Those are the type of levers I had fitted, no provision for clutch switch activation.

Theres loads of info on svrider about the wiring to the ecu, I think that wire has to be shorted to possibly ground to fool the ecu. Ive also found the idle note change with the clutch pulled in.

I was going to do the wiring mod from the ecu, but the levers are cack, so took them off and went back to standard.

I still have the mount plate and micro switch if anyone really wants to go that route with the clutch switch I mentioned in an earlier post, but its a breakdown waiting to happen, and for me that was 3pm on a Friday when I finished work.
