Where can i get the exhaust connector that lifts the pipe up at the rear, I take it it gives better clearance

opsman 12-11-06 03:45 PM

Is there any video footage of the racing out there anywhere???

Also which to do Bemsee/MRO or North glouster and dont forget i am a beginner

Robw#70 12-11-06 04:18 PM

Thats a std High level Hindle system, however I struggled for clearence at the bottom of the link pipe, the systems I have seen since seem further in under the frame, This is a problem with Akraprovic as well.

Do Bemsee, you will be put in whichever class according to your experience.
So far there has not been the competition in NG, hence the laptimes are down by up to 5sec compared to Bemsee and the faster times have usually been set by visiting Bemsee riders

So Bemsee it is then

thanks for that oh and if there is a prob with the system which one is best then anybody????

Theres some on board footage Here http://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=39126

A bit dated now as a couple of Circuits have had chicanes put in.

Might be worth having a look at www.Motoforum.net as a lot of the bemsee lads use the site and there is also Yahoo group for minitwins though i'm not sure how up to date it is.

Ok I have a shopping list with some reccomended I need help with prices and which to get

• Ohlins rear shock
• Ohlins Fork Springs
• Rear Sets Which One (budget £150)
• Exhaust Which One (budget 200)
• Clip Ons Which One (budget 120)
• Brake Lines Which One (budget 70)
• Steering Damper Which One (budget 150)

Just want to be competetive but within small budget, if they dont fit with my budget then will save more money just need an idea

I think after speaking with sarah on PM that unfortunately I cannot have the K5 GSXR fairing and seat unit as far as I understand if I buy one then I will have problems as I would have to manufacture brackets etc, this is a shame as I have been offered a new seat and fairing for around £200 but unless it is a QB carbon one then sarahs brackets wont fit, so will now opt for the RHS fairings that bolt straight onto the bike.

Thanks in advance for your kind help

• Rear Sets Which One (budget £150)

Valtermoto are fairly cheap

• Exhaust Which One (budget 200)

Need to spend more than that

• Clip Ons Which One (budget 120)

Stick with standard bars

• Brake Lines Which One (budget 70)

Any

• Steering Damper Which One (budget 150)

Don't bother. Put the rest towards the exhaust.

So are sarahs not K5 Gsxr fairings then??

Its really not that hard to get them on, just get down to B+Q and get some strips of flat steel/alloy and bend up some brackets to mount off std brackets and take a hacksaw to the subframe.
Most fairings have been fitted to the sv now from Ducati, Kawasaki, Honda and Suzuki, none have been massively modified and used either std bracket modded to suit or the std bracket for the bike it came off.
Its trimming them right that makes the difference, endless bikes have had Gsxr fairings and some just don't look right, others do, its not what you fit, its who/how its fitted.

Its worth spending the extra on the forks and go for Emulators and springs £250 fitted and exhaust systems wise Hindle is the best value at £350 and performance wise there is very little in it on a Mt spec bike, Hindle is the lightest, but M4 makes more power in different areas, but weighs a lot more and is a lot more expensive.
Replacement cans/parts are also a consideration, Akraprovic cans are £300 and repack kits are only available with a new sleeve £180.
You will need to repack the can at least once in a season so bear that in mind.
