About 4mm worth of static sag firmness!

Sounds hard, BUT the bike is so much better! Had to add a click of compression to the rear shock, but did about 100 miles in total on Sat and she was so much better than me!!

I would say that the Matris is brilliant when compared to uprated springs and oil, but it does have a track bias to it.

Glad I did it though!

Doesn't that mean you've got to hard a spring rate or too much preload/compression damping? I would've thought you'd be able to adjust them so they're much softer than standard if you want.
I mention it because i'm almost on the point of ordering them. (but have been since buying the bike.. :D )

Been out for a quick spin today and I think I am bottomming out! When I roll off the throttle I can see the forks compressing dramatically. I have upped the preload from position 3 to one, but it doesn't make much difference! I will wind it up to the max tommorow, but it looks like new springs. will be needed. They really are weak aren't they. Even the soggy bandit didn't bottom out on me!

Preload won't stop bottoming out, remember. It just feels like it does because when you get on, the forks are already a bit compressed and so the bike doesn't sink as much.

It will make it less likely though, although it will **** up all the sag settings.

So anyway, I maxed out the preload, and of course it hasn't stopped me bottoming out, but it has taken away the bouncy feeling. Those forks really are soft! I guess it's gotta be heavier springs. Still love the ride though.

After reading this, i maxxed out my front preload, and i find not a lot of difference, but it does seem happier in dampning.

Im 5'11" and about 85Kg / 13st. My bike being quite new / low milage i'm not too keen on upping the springs / oil yet.
